37 Years, 37 Photographs
Yorkshire born, I have spent the last thirty-seven years living and working far from home, making photographs on an outward journey that has taken me mainly across Africa and Asia.
Today, at sixty-three, I find myself doing something that feels exhilarating.
I am returning to Europe—to the UK. Coming home.
Not to begin again.
But to bring back everything my long years of wandering have given me and taught me.
To mark that journey, I have selected thirty-seven photographs—one for each year I have spent on the road.
They represent only a fraction of an archive built over more than three decades, but together they offer a vignette of witness—my way of seeing, interpreting and making sense of the world.
Drawn from commissioned assignments, personal projects, book proposals, magazine publications and gallery exhibitions, these photographs reflect the breadth of my practice and the curiosity that has guided it.
Whether working in the landscape, the city, on the street or in portraiture, I have always been drawn to moments where observation, atmosphere and human presence quietly converge.
