Step into a constructed world of image and identity — where teams are seen, shaped, and reimagined together.

The A-Team
Hong Kong Start-Up
Imaginarium Teams offers a flexible, theme-driven portrait experience designed specifically for organisations and group environments.
A dedicated space can be transformed into a compact, cinematic studio where teams take part in a series of carefully constructed portrait scenarios — from editorial-style groupings and magazine-inspired compositions to more character-led or culturally influenced interpretations.
Using simple, highly portable lighting and minimal equipment, the setup is designed to operate efficiently within working environments, while still producing refined, visually distinctive results.
The experience is adaptable across different structures — leadership teams, departments, creative groups, or entire organisations — with each session creating a set of portraits that reflect identity, collaboration, and the character of the group.

SERIOUS / STRUCTURED APPROACH
At its most direct, Imaginarium Teams focuses on clear, structured portraits that reflect the composition and character of a group.
Individuals are photographed within a considered framework — by role, department, or collective presence — creating images that feel grounded, composed, and intentional.
The emphasis is on clarity and cohesion: portraits that describe how a team is organized, how it presents itself, and how it exists as a working unit.
But always this is about capturing personality & character.

A DAY IN THE LIFE
Alongside constructed portrait work, Imaginarium can shift into a more observational mode — documenting the rhythm and character of a working environment as it unfolds.
Moving quietly through a space, I photograph people in the act of doing what they do — capturing gestures, interactions, and moments of focus with a considered, graphic eye.
The result is a series of images that sit somewhere between documentary and design: a visual study of how a team operates, expressed through light, timing, and composition.
These photographs offer a different perspective on organisational life — not staged, but shaped through observation — creating a body of work that feels both authentic and visually distinctive.

PLAYFUL / INTERPRETIVE APPROACH
A more interpretive direction can be introduced, drawing on visual culture, narrative, and a lighter sense of construction.
Teams may step into stylised scenarios influenced by editorial imagery, cinema, or graphic traditions — allowing humour, exaggeration, or character to emerge.
These portraits retain a sense of structure, but open space for personality and shared identity to be expressed in a more imaginative and unexpected way.

COMPOSITE PORTRAIT CONCEPTS
Portraits can also be created using simple compositing techniques. Participants are photographed in a portable setup and later placed into landscapes or graphic environments photographed along the event route.
This approach allows for imaginative portraits that still reflect the atmosphere and setting of the event.

FURTHER IDEAS AND CONCEPTS AT A GLANCE
Imaginarium Cruise offers a series of adaptable portrait concepts that draw on cinema, print culture, and the visual language of travel.
Guests may find themselves stepping into scenes that echo classic film imagery, vintage magazine covers, or the romance of mid-century travel — each one carefully constructed, yet open to interpretation.
The approach remains deliberately flexible and light in its execution, allowing a wide range of visual ideas to be realised within compact onboard spaces.
Quick to install and unobtrusive in operation, the experience can adapt to different settings, schedules, and guest groups — while maintaining a distinctive and memorable visual result.

IMAGINARIUM Teams is a portrait theatre — a flexible photographic space where organisations, departments, and working groups can be represented through a range of distinctive visual approaches.
The project brings a considered, experience-led approach to organisational life, creating portraits of the people who shape it — leadership teams, staff, creative groups, and the structures and relationships that define how they work together.
Using simple portable setups and minimal equipment, a dedicated space can be established within the workplace, allowing for the creation of refined, visually striking portraits without disrupting the working environment.
Each session offers a range of visual approaches — from clear, structured group portraits to more interpretive, stylised, or playful constructions that reflect the culture and personality of the team.
The aim is to create photographs that organisations value as part of their identity: images that communicate presence, cohesion, and character, both internally and outwardly.
IMAGINARIUM Teams appears by invitation — a traveling portrait theatre for organizations interested in seeing themselves with clarity, intention, and imagination.
